The Sun Gate

Intipuncu or Intipunku or Inti Punku is the famous gate that is on the Inca Trail that connects with Machu Picchu.

Hikers who take the trip on the trail get to see this gate, whose name in Quechuan means "Sun Gate"...

The views from this part are very beautiful towards the nearby mountains, including the "Old Peak" of Machu Picchu, which is already visible from the "Sun Gate".

Note that you cannot get to the "Sun Gate" unless you travel on the mentioned section of the Inca Trail. To it, access is limited and you must book well in advance for a hiking package from an authorized agency.
